Whether 18 or 8, braids have always been a hairstyle I'll eventually revert back to. Growing up, braids was the "in thing" especially after seeing pop stars such as the Spice Girls and Britney Spears wearing the hairstyle. Not to mention Alicia Keys' cornrow braids with beads at the end. (You wouldn't want to mess with her, one hair flick and you'd be in for trouble! Strangely, her song 'No One' is currently being played on my playlist as I type...coinsidence? I think not!). I initially first started wearing braids when I was attending school. My mum would often tie plaits in my hair to keep it intact all day. As I had a tendency to come back home with lopsided ponytails! This was then adapted to french braids as I attended High School. During these years, I began to experiment with braids and learnt to create fishtail braids and even incorporate braids into an everyday basic hairstyle. As I've grown older, I grew out of the braid phase. However, to this day it is still a relevant trend. Whether I want a cute hairstyle or something to keep my hair out of my face, braids have always ended up being my go to. I'm sure all the 90's kids will agree?! What's your favourite type of braid?
