This summer my sister got married! Anddd...we all know what that means right? NEW OUTFITS! When it came to picking my outfits, I had a lot of inspiration from different designers. However, one designer I was mainly gaining inspiration from was Manish Malhotra. My favourite outfit has to be my wedding and pre-wedding outfit which was custom made.
Most of my outfits were purchased in India. I have to say my parents are the real MVP’s. I gave them a sheet full of designs and annotations of the type of outfits I wanted. This included the style, colour, material, you name it and it was most likely on that sheet of paper. When it comes to Indian outfits, I have to admit I am very fussy and that’s because I like my outfits to look nice but also feel comfortable. Sooo with the power of FaceTime alonsgide my parents having the patience of saints, we found some amazing outfits that I LOVED and were worth waiting for.
The engagement outfit was bought in Leicester and this was a ready-made saree suit. This was a very light suit. However, the detailed blouse added to the outfit alongside the simple gold saree.
The wedding and pre-wedding outfits were all from India. My wedding outfit was a ready-made lengha and alterations were made to my size. The can-can underneath my skirt is essentially what added shape and dimension to my outfit. Although it was VERY heavy and would not stay on a hanger, it was worth it!
My pre-wedding outfit (Sanji) was custom made! This has to be one of my favourite outfits. My parents surprised me when they came back from India. I was told the outfit I was looking for was not available in the stores. However, to my surprise when I came back home from University, my mum brought out this white lengha and had it custom made! They found the material I was looking for, styled the blouse with net around the neck area and had a flush skirt that draped from my hip right down to the floor. We had this custom made in India by Khushi Tailors in Gujarat. Khushi tailors, have altered all of our saree, suits and blouses in the past and created the most perfect suit for me for my sister's wedding!
Who doesn’t love dressing up for weddings and feeling like a princess?!
